ABO will be returning
to our extended hours to accommodate more after-school
appointments. The office will be open until 5:00 in Ft.
Wayne and 4:30 in Huntington. Also, in addition to our
weekend pager service, one of our highly trained technicians
will be available after business hours during the week as
well. If there is a serious orthodontic
emergency you can call our pager number at 481-8555 for
assistance.
Here are a few
helpful orthodontic reminders for the school
year:
- For patients who
have recently had their braces removed and are wearing their
retainers full-time, please keep an extra retainer case at
school. Put it in your locker, desk, book-bag or purse
so that you will have it available to use at lunch time.
Please do not wrap it in a napkin and put in on the
lunch tray!
- For patients who are
in treatment, keep an extra proxi-brush with you.
These are small cone-shaped brushes that fit easily under
the archwire and around the brackets. They are
available at almost all stores that sell toothbrushes. They
come in very handy after lunch!
- For all patients who
play sports, please wear a mouth guard. These can be
purchased from any sporting goods or retail store.
They are inexpensive and can easily be custom fitted.
Some mouth guards will need to be re-fitted during
orthodontic treatment as the teeth move.
- For parents
and students, please have your class, practice and sports
schedules available so we can schedule your next orthodontic
appointment before you leave the office. The longer the wait
to schedule, the less times there are available to meet your
needs. We realize that schedules can change and try our best
to accommodate all of our patients.
